<p>Eating healthy is difficult and so is finding healthy recipes, much like you I have read many cooking books, blogs and any other place I could find any healthy recipes. One of the biggest issues when looking for healthy recipes is who do you trust? This is why I have put together a frequently asked questions, so that I can prove to you that I am honest and trust worthy.</p>

<p><strong>Have you had any formal education in nutrition for healthy recipes?</strong></p>
<p>No, like you I have got most of my information from the internet. I have tried all the fad diets, I have read up on healthy eating and much like you just want me and my family to be healthier.</p>
<p><strong>Where do you get your healthy recipes?</strong></p>
<p>I read a lot of cooking book as well as reading other food websites and then what I do is I look at the individual ingredients and see if I can swap them out for a healthier option. I will also combine recipes, say if I find one that has a particularly healthy side dish and have another recipe for a low fat chicken but has a rather unhealthy rice dish on the side. I will get rid of the rice dish and instead add in the healthier side dish. A lot of it is just trial and error, mostly error but I do stumble upon a few gems.</p>
<p><strong>Do you know the healthy recipes work?</strong></p>
<p>Yes, I have tried them myself many a fair few times. So I know which ones are bad and which are good.</p>
<p><strong>Where do you find those usual cooking tools for your healthy recopies?</strong></p>
<p>Your not the only one who gets annoyed when your reading through a &#8220;home cooking&#8221; book and the recipes that include stuff like a French bread pan or a silicone muffin pan etc. They also like to use unusual and expensive ingredients which are not available in most super markets. But nothing cannot beat using the right ingredients, you just do not get the same taste without them. If I get stuck for a ingredient I tend to use Amazon.com and have it delivered to my door.</p>
<p><strong>If a recipe tells me to use whole-wheat flour can I use all-purpose flour?</strong></p>
<p>Whole-wheat flour is a flour contains more protein than your standard all purpose flour. It also unlike all-purpose flour it absorbs more liquid. That being said it depends on what you are baking, in quick breads or muffins there is not a massive difference but you have to keep the rest of the recipe the same, but you should keep in mind that the nutritional values have changed. If you are cooking scones, cookies or biscuits the batter can become runny. When it comes to yeast breads you can not change whole-wheat flour for all purpose flour.</p>
<p><strong>Some recipes say they are healthy but their not low in fat?</strong></p>
<p>Me, personal I do not believe in low fat food, what I do instead is to minimize the amount of saturated fat that I consume. Instead I try to find food that is high in fibber, high in protein and most importantly is nutritious. Fat itself is not a bad thing, especially in foods like salmon, avocado and olive oil.</p>
<p><strong>Do you ever eat unhealthy stuff?</strong></p>
<p>Oh course I do, I am not a machine but I do not eat unhealthy on occasion. I do eat my healthy recipes on a daily basis. I do this to maintain my healthy body and keep my weight under control. We have all got to give in to temptation some time, otherwise life wouldn&#8217;t be fun.</p>

<p>Well it is mainly potion control and following healthy recipes, I mean I wish like some of those lucky people out there that can eat what they like and not gaining weight but I cannot.</p>
